It’s one of those days… where everything I draw today looks like shit….. Also my face hurts. I think it’s upset at me for how cruddy my work looks today.
Doodle break. Felt like drawin’ Mary Marvel but I forgot what her actual outfit looked like so I drew something off the top of my head.
And the Supergirl outfit is sorta the one from Superman: Unbound which comes out next week. The girl characters were some of my favorites. Lois is so SASSY. Anyways… you should go get it. Just sayin’. >__>

Inspiring words every artist should read
honestly, one of the best things that happened to me and where i am with my art over the past few years was to stop comparing myself with my friends.
This is really inspiring to read. I hit a slump right after I started working where I felt like I wasn’t getting any better with my art, was missing out on life outside of work, and actually wondered if I had made a horrible mistake going into animation. I cried myself to sleep a few times the first year (but there were a few other things that contributed to that).
After a while I realized the same thing as Jane. Being hard on myself only went so far and only if I did it in a constructive way (which I definitely wasn’t doing at the time). I had to find what it was that made me want to become a professional artist in the first place and try to apply it to everything I worked on, even if I hated the actual project. The other day I finished a board that I felt really, really proud. It wasn’t some giant fight scene or a really emotional character moment, but I still felt like it was some of the best work I’ve done since starting my career. I even had a ton of fun cleaning it up and making it pretty. :3 It was a really great feeling and sometimes you gotta remind yourself what it is you love about art. :)
Glorify this moment, for thy shall never experience anything like this again.

The prompt for myself was club dresses that super-heroines would wear if they actually went clubbing. Emphasis on the “IF”. I mean, these gals are busy fighting crime after all.
